On the Horizon

Pediatric CAHPS

The Children’s Health Insurance Program Reauthorization Act (CHIPRA), an effort to improve healthcare quality and outcomes for the nation’s children, has been financed through FY2013. Part of this initiative includes developing measures to monitor pediatric experience of care, which is currently being developed by CMS and AHRQ. The CHIPRA Pediatric Quality Measures Program (PQMP; sometimes referred to as Pediatric HCAHPS) has awarded grants to seven Centers of Excellence that will investigate solutions to pressing issues in measuring the quality of pediatric care.

PRC has been working with our pediatric providers to meet their needs and keep them updated on this initiative. In an effort to proactively monitor pediatric initiatives on the horizon, PRC has partnered with the Children’s Hospital Boston Center of Excellence for Quality Measurement to stay abreast of survey instruments that will be used to measure pediatrics. PRC is committed to providing Excellence in pediatric patient measurement.
